ISSN 0131-9582 (Online)

All scientific articles received by the editorial staff of "Glass and ceramics" journal go through mandatory blind peer review (the reviewer does not know the authors of the manuscript, the authors of the manuscript do not know the reviewers).

Review of articles is performed by the members of the editorial board, as well as guest reviewers - the leading specialists in corresponding field of Russia and other countries. A decision on the choice of a reviewer to perform review of the article is made by the Editor in Chief, Deputy Editor in Chief, Science Editor, and Head of the editorial board. The period of the review is 3-6 weeks, but at the request of the reviewer it may be extended.

Each reviewer has a right to refuse to review, in case of apparent conflict of interest influencing perception and interpretation of the manuscript. Following the review of the manuscript, reviewer gives recommendations on future of the article (every decision of the reviewer is justified):

  • article is recommended for publication in its present form;

  • article is recommended for publication after correction of deficiencies noted by the reviewer;

  • articles needs additional review by other specialist;

  • article cannot be published in the journal.

If review contains recommendations for improvements and correction of errors of the article, the editorial staff of the journal sends the author a text of review with proposal to take them into account when preparing a new version of the article or refute them with reason (partially or completely). Follow-up revision of the article should not take more than 2 months from the date of sending an electronic message to the author for making amendments. Article modified by the author is re-directed for review.

In case of refusal of authors to perform a follow-up revision of materials, they need to notify the editorial staff in writing or orally of their withdrawal of the article from publication. If authors do not return a modified version after 3 months from the date of sending the review, even in the absence of information from the authors' with refusal to do a follow-up revision of the article, editorial staff has the right to remove an article from the register. In such situations, authors are sent a notification on withdrawal of the manuscript from the registration due to expiration of time-limit allocated for a follow-up review.

If irreconcilable differences regarding the manuscript appeared between author and reviewers, the editorial staff has the right to send the manuscript for further review. In conflict situations, the decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief independently or by decision of a meeting of the editorial board.

The decision to reject publication of the manuscript is accepted at a meeting of the editorial board or Editor-in-Chief in accordance with recommendations of reviewers. Article not recommended for publication by the decision of the Editorial Board or Editor-in-Chief is not accepted for reconsideration. A message on rejection of publication is sent to the author by e-mail.

After the decision is made by the Editorial Board or Editor-in-Chief of the journal on recommendation of an article for publication, editorial board informs the author and specifies the date of publication.

Presence of positive reviews is not sufficient grounds for publication of an article. Final decision on publication is made by the editorial board or Editor-in-Chief. In conflict situations, decision is made by the Editor in Chief.

  • articles not designed in accordance with the requirements for publication, authors of which refuse to technically revise the article;
