Possibilities of intensification of glass melting due to preliminary mechanical activation of quartz sand in a disintegrator under various conditions are considered. It is shown that mechanical activation causes disturbances in the crystal structure of quartz and increases the degree of its amorphization. As a result, the processes of silicate and glass formation are shifted to the region of lower temperatures, which ensures a decrease in the glass melting temperature by 80 ° C.
