The basic composition of single-layer glass enamel has been developed, which allows obtaining a wide range of colors of coatings for steel products with good surface quality. A number of ionic dyes have been tested, mainly compounds of d- and f-elements. The properties of coatings have been studied: chemical resistance, adhesion strength, gloss and heat resistance. The firing temperature has been determined. The obtained glass enamels can be used in mass production. Tab. 4, bibliography: 3 titles.
