Corundum ceramics of medical duty

The possibilities of using various types of alumina raw materials, modifying additives, temporary technological bonds for the manufacture of bioinert ceramic materials based on aluminum oxide have been investigated. The modes of heat treatment of workpieces have been developed. Received a ceramic material with an average density of 4.01 g / cm ³ , tensile strength at three-point bending 380? 20 MPa, with a corundum crystal size of 4 - 6 microns and zero open porosity, which can be used as heads of hip joint endoprostheses.
