The main provisions on the choice of processing modes for diamond drilling of nonmetallic materials are presented. The process of microcutting with a single diamond grain is considered and, on the basis of known regularities, dependences are obtained that connect the components of the cutting force and the ratio of the speed of the main movement to the feed. The possibility of adaptive control of the process of drilling of non-metallic materials using two-circuit systems along the feed channel and along the speed channel of the main movement is shown.
