    Science for glass production

  • Surface attractive forces of the glass batch particles

    • Pages: -
The forces of surface interaction of the components of the glass batch are considered, and the comparison of capillary and gravitational forces for different particle sizes at different stages of preparation of the molten glass is carried out. The dependences of the capillary force on the volume of the liquid and the distance between particles are discussed. Tab. 1, ill. 5, bibliography: 7 titles.

  • Synergistic aspect of ceramic technology

    • Pages: -
Synergetics - an interdisciplinary study of the processes of self-organization in open systems during their exchange of matter (energy, substance, information) with the environment - allows us to consider the course of technological operations from the most general positions. Ceramic technology can be divided into two main stages: during the production of a semi-finished product, the system predominantly accumulates energy in the form of the free surface of particles and defects in their volume; during sintering, it mainly spends this energy on strengthening and densifying the product. Bibliography: 17 titles.
  • Dependence of the cast properties of ceramic slurry on the water hardness

    Autors: N. S. Yugai
    • Pages: -
It has been established that the casting properties of majolica slip depend on water hardness, electrolyte concentration and the nature of the clay component of the ceramic mass. An increase in water hardness leads to an inevitable increase in the electrolyte content and the moisture content of the slip. Stabilization of the casting properties of the slip is possible provided that water of constant hardness is used and additional controlled parameters are introduced. Tab. 2, ill. 5, bibliography: 3 titles.
  • Technological advancement of building ceramic production and diversification of the product line

    • Pages: -
It has been established that the addition of marl to the clays of Tatarstan deposits can significantly expand the color gamut of ceramic products, and increase their physical and mechanical characteristics. The research methodology is described in detail. Tab. 4, ill. 2, bibliography: 7 titles.

  • Cause-effect relation of the spoilage upon brick firing in tunnel kilns

    • Pages: -
Cause-and-effect relationships have been investigated when bricks are fired in tunnel kilns, and the reasons for rejects caused by the high-speed mode of heat treatment of products in the kiln have been determined. With existing gas burner devices, the requirements for high-speed firing modes cannot be met. It is necessary to modernize the furnace: replacement of Vulcan-Gas gas burners with burners of modern design with automatic control of the furnace thermal regime and improvement of the thermal regime in the preparatory zone of the tunnel furnace. Il. 4, bibliography: 4 titles.

  • Facing tiles based on feldspar and Cambrian clays of Chekalovskoe deposit

    • Pages: -
The possibility of using feldspar raw materials of the Chupinsky GOK in the compositions of masses at factories producing ceramic facing tiles has been studied. The influence of this raw material on the shrinkage, water absorption and strength of products based on Cambrian clay from the Chekalovskoye deposit was studied, and their properties were compared with samples from the mass used by the Nikolsky Ceramic Plant. The use of quartz-feldspar waste dedusting allows you to exclude lime from the mass and reduce the amount of quartz sand requiring grinding. Tab. 2, ill. 1.
  • Heat-efficient composite walling

    • Pages: -
The influence of foam glass additives on the physicomechanical and thermophysical properties of building ceramics is considered. The features of the formation of a porous structure are investigated depending on the properties of the starting materials. A new glass-ceramic material with improved thermal insulation properties has been obtained. Tab. 2, ill. 2, bibliography: 3 titles.

    • Pages: -
The use of oxyfuel combustion, including the use of Cleanfire THRF burners, in glassmaking is the starting point for a complete overhaul of the glass melting process, discovering all the benefits that can help improve energy efficiency and maintain a cleaner environment. Il. 5, bibliography: 2 titles.
