Based on the Na ₂ O (K ₂ O) - MgO - CaO - BaO - ZnO - B ₂ O _{3 - SiO 2 glasses have been developed with a refractive index of 1.60 - 1.65, density 2.80 - 3.08 g / cm ³ and dispersion coefficient not less than 45. Glasses are recommended for use in the production of spectacle lenses.}

The statistical data of tests of glass samples processed by various methods for mechanical strength are considered. It is shown that the deposition of metallized films on glass reduces its strength, and their removal by a laser practically does not lead to further loss of strength.

Compositions of magnesium silicophosphate glasses have been developed, in which a radioactive isotope of phosphorus ³² P with a half-life of 14.22 days is formed during irradiation in a neutron flux. The technology for producing microspheres from synthesized glasses is presented. Glass powders from the developed glasses are recommended for use as an indicator of the behavior of solid aerosols and the efficiency of filtering installations.

The structure of aluminum hydroxide powders obtained as a by-product in the production of hydrogen fuel has been investigated. One of the main starting components was aluminum-magnesium shavings with a mass content of 0.6, 6 and 12% magnesium. The phase composition and morphology of powder particles were investigated using X-ray phase and petrographic methods of analysis. It was found that the obtained aluminum hydroxide powder is a promising material for the production of corundum ceramics.

A number of composite materials based on dicalcium phosphate dihydrate and bioactive glass 50S25N5P with physiologically safe pH values ??and compressive strength from 4 to 22 MPa have been developed. The obtained composites are resorbable and can be used in the treatment of injuries and diseases of the bone tissue.

Functional coatings for heat-shielding and heat-insulating materials based on quartz fibers and whiskers are considered.

Problems limiting the technical and economic efficiency of glass making are considered. The necessity and possibility of design and construction of high-performance and energy-efficient glass-melting furnaces is shown.

Some methods of statistical analysis used to control the quality of glass batch are considered, and factors influencing its temperature and humidity are determined. An assessment of the accuracy of the charge moistening process was carried out and a causal diagram of the moisture instability of a multicomponent mixture of raw materials was constructed. The use of a circular graph-radar for the analysis of the chemical composition of glass by deviations in the content of basic oxides is proposed.

The technological factors have been studied that have an intensifying effect on the processes of hardening and structure formation in the system of quartz sand - liquid glass. Optimized temperature and humidity conditions for the hardening of the compositions, the dispersion of the filler, the type and amount of the modifying additive, the quantitative ratio of the components of the raw mixture. High-silica liquid-glass composites for construction purposes with increased mechanical strength and water resistance have been developed.
