    Science for glass production

  • Batch components granulometry for efficient glass-making

    Autors: Dzyuzer V.Ya.
    • Pages: 3-7
The analysis of the granulometric composition of the raw material components of the charge intended for high-performance glass melting has been carried out. It was found that the narrow-fractional composition of sodium sulfate and feldspar practically corresponds to the distribution of silica sand particles, for which about 80% of the mass content falls within the range of 100 250 microns. For carbonate feedstock and soda, a relatively uniform fractional composition with an upper size limit of up to 2000 microns is preferable. At the same time, the proportionality of the particles of the raw materials components with the grain size of quartz sand provides conditions for obtaining a homogeneous mixture and takes into account the technological features of high-performance glass-making
  • Glassware toughening by ultrafine nanoadditives

    • Pages: 8-11
The effect of the use of ultradispersed (nano) materials on the strength characteristics of glass samples of various chemical compositions obtained by high-temperature sintering from powder-forming components has been studied. The nature of the dependence of the strength on the mass content and type of introduced nanomaterials and the chemical composition of the glass has been established.
  • Basalt fibers produced in solar furnace

    • Pages: 12-13
The possibility of obtaining basalt fiber based on mineral raw materials of Uzbekistan using heating with concentrated solar radiation has been investigated. The phase composition and properties of basalt fiber obtained by traditional technology using gas and solar energy as an energy carrier have been studied. The parameters of the solar furnace in the technological process of obtaining basalt fiber have been determined. The first results indicate the possibility of using concentrated solar energy to create "green" technologies for the production of fibrous materials

  • Regulating properties of silicon carbide ceramics by batch granu-lometry variation

    • Pages: 20-25
An energy-efficient method for creating composite materials based on SiC modified with oxide eutectic compositions with high mechanical characteristics has been proposed. The effect of varying the particle size distribution on the physical and mechanical properties of ceramics has been investigated. The ratio of fractions was determined, a dense material with high strength and crack resistance was obtained. The developed ceramics is promising as a structural one, including as armor protection.
  • Properties of large-scale boron nitride-based bodies for super-hard composites

    • Pages: 26-29
A composite based on polycrystalline cubic boron nitride with a refractory binder, characterized by a high degree of phase distribution homogeneity, was obtained by thermobaric treatment in a cubic press at a pressure of 6.0 GPa and a temperature of 1450 ° C. The homogeneity of the microstructure of the large-sized composite was confirmed by XRD, SEM, and XMA. Mechanical tests, impact turning tests of hardened steel, proved the high strength of the composite. Thus, composites made using this technology can be recommended for use in the mining industry.
  • Structure formation in a porous high-refractory granular ceramic material

    • Pages: 30-35
On the basis of model and experimental studies, the formation of the structure of a porous highly refractory ceramic material with a granular structure has been studied. The concept of the structure of the ceramic material of rods as a material consisting of interpenetrating bulk clusters of oxide grains of various sizes cemented with a ceramic bond has been developed. Using the main provisions of the percolation theory, a study of a model structure with cubic packing was carried out and a correlation was established between the structure-sensitive shrinkage phenomena of the ceramic material of the rods and the fraction of nodes belonging to the skeleton of an infinite cluster

  • The influence of preliminary binder heating on the quality of glass-composite pultrusion rods

    • Pages: 36-40
A description of a mathematical model based on Darcy's law for determining the pressure in the inlet part of the die in the manufacture of large-size composite rods obtained by pultrusion based on glass fibers is given. Is the effect of preheating the glass fiber system shown? binder on the distribution and magnitude of pressure inside the inlet section of the die, the maximum possible pultrusion rates are determined at different preheating temperatures
  • Utilization of waste

  • Composite pigments manufacturing from industrial waste of alumi-na production

    • Pages: 41-44
Scientific work has been carried out to obtain pigments of various colors from red mud? Bogoslovsky aluminum plant. A technology has been developed for the production of red pigments (heat treatment at 290-850 ° C) and black pigments (heat treatment in a controlled atmosphere at temperatures of 500-1000 ° C). Ceramic pigments with a crystal lattice structure of chain pyroxenes and garnets were obtained from red mud at temperatures of 900? 1100? C. The conducted research is aimed at expanding the raw material base of pigments and reducing the cost of their production through the use of waste

  • Improvement of glass batch transporter lines

    Autors: Efremenkov V.V.
    • Pages: 14-19
The problems of transportation of glass batch over long distances are considered. A project for the reconstruction of flow lines for raw materials and glass batch in the production of float glass is presented. Shown are various options for technological schemes of the mixing department of the charge, located outside the compound shop. An algorithm for the use of a conditionally defective charge using a backup mixer is proposed.
