The thermal properties of a series of synthesized rubidium and cesium borosilicate glasses have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry. The values ??of the glass transition and crystallization temperatures have been determined, and the change in the specific heat of these glasses at the glass transition temperature has been determined. The thermal study data are compared with the results of the study of structural features by IR spectroscopy. The information obtained makes it possible to adjust the parameters of the heat treatment of glass-containing materials depending on their composition, which is important for improving the matrix glassy materials used in the immobilization of radioactive waste.

The features of the formation of the structure and properties of ceramic bricks are established depending on the content of calcium carbonates and iron oxides based on clay raw materials of various chemical and mineralogical composition during low-temperature firing. The influence of carbonate and ferruginous impurities on the strength properties is revealed.

The effect of ultrasonic treatment (22 kHz) of a suspension of metakaolin, aluminum oxide and sodium hydroxide at a molar ratio Al ₂ O ₃ 2SiO ₂: NaOH: Al ₂ O ₃ = 6: 12: 2 with subsequent heat treatment and hydrothermal crystallization for the synthesis of LTA zeolite. It has been established that an increase in the S: L ratio at the stage of ultrasonic treatment makes it possible to increase the yield of the target product. The optimal conditions for ultrasonic treatment were determined (amplitude 8 ?m, time about 10 min). It has been shown that under optimal conditions the degree of crystallinity of the LTA zeolite is 98%. A comparison of the regularities of the synthesis of LTA zeolite using ultrasonic treatment and mechanochemical activation is given.

An approach to obtaining data on the tortuosity coefficient of their pores k _Z is shown using the example of polyspherical media with ordered packings of spheres characterized by certain values ??of porosity w and / or packing density ?, based on the models of quasi-faceted cells and pore-tubes... A 3D matrix was obtained based on a sintered composite material made of bioactive glass and dicalcium phosphate dihydrate. The regularities of the influence of the ratio of the mixture components and the firing temperature of the workpieces on the phase composition, porosity, strength and kinetics of dissolution of sintered specimens have been established. Sol-gel method synthesized thin films based on the SiO ₂ -CаO-P ₂ O ₅ -TiO ₂ system... The properties of the material were investigated by methods of infrared spectroscopy, X-ray phase analysis, and thermal analysis. Thin films were obtained from film-forming solutions (FOR) on single-crystal silicon substrates (model substrate) by stretching at a pulling rate of 5 mm / s followed by heat treatment at 60 ° C for 20 min and at 600 and 800 ° C for 1 h. Biological activity was studied in vitro in SBF environment. With an increase in the mass content of titanium oxide in the system up to 10%, the bioactivity of the material increases.

DI Mendeleev, honored worker of higher education, member of the editorial board of the journal "Glass and Ceramics" Alexey Vasilyevich Belyakov turned 70 in September. Alexey Vasilievich was born in 1946 in Moscow. After graduating from high school with a silver medal, he entered the Moscow Order of the Red Banner of Labor Chemical-Technological Institute. D.I.
