Heading: Science for glass production

On the basis of the drop model describing the inhomogeneous structure of liquidating glasses, a unified expression is obtained for calculating the effective value of the electrical conductivity and the diffusion coefficient of the cation depending on the total content of alkali oxide. The proposed model is consistent with experimental data for sodium and lithium silicate glasses. Tab. 2, ill. 3, bibliography: 6 titles.
