Absorption spectra of alkali-borate glass dyed with cobalt

The optical absorption spectra of alkaline-borate glasses colored with cobalt in the visible and near-IR regions (0.4 - 2.7 ?m) have been investigated. An attempt was made to establish the relationship between changes in the structure of the boron-oxygen network and the transition of cobalt ions from octahedral oxygen coordination to tetrahedral coordination.
