The reasons for the increased tendency to foaming of iron-containing glass melts are revealed, depending on the composition, concentration of iron oxides, and the cooking medium. Recommendations for their elimination are given. It is shown that foam in iron-containing silicate melts is formed by the interaction of a ferritized melt with quartz.
