A method for surface treatment of titanium and its alloys prior to the application of dental enamels is proposed. The effect of surface treatment and protective atmosphere on the adhesion strength at the enamel - titanium interface and the rate of oxidation of the titanium surface during heating has been studied. It is shown that the use of phosphoric acid as an etchant and the introduction of an additional degreasing operation increase the adhesion strength of titanium and enamel and reduce the rate of formation of an oxygen-enriched layer on the metal surface.
