It is shown that to ensure the process of drilling holes in parts made of brittle non-metallic materials, the axial cutting force generated by a diamond drill must be greater than the critical cutting force corresponding to the threshold of brittle fracture of the material. A model for removing cuttings from the cutting zone has been developed, which ensures the operation of the drill in the self-sharpening mode. The recommended values ??of the pressure of the coolant supplied to the inner cavity of the drill, depending on its diameter, have been calculated. Il. 6, bibliography: 3 titles.
