The significant role of surface phenomena in technological processes, including glass production, is noted. Different glass technologies have specific features, respectively, they have features and surface phenomena. At the same time, this area has been insufficiently studied and requires more attention. Information on the role of surface phenomena in the technological processes of glass production and during the operation of glass products is presented. The possibilities of using surface phenomena in traditional and new technological processes are considered. Il. 2, bibliography: 36 titles.

The possibility of replacing quartz sand when cooking an enamel frit with natural diatomite rock has been investigated. It has been established that the use of local diatomite as a silicate raw material for cooking enamel frits is a promising trend in enameling technology. The properties of frits obtained on the basis of diatomite raw materials are similar to the properties of the reference low-melting frit F-1, have slightly lower cooking and softening temperatures, and their technological characteristics are within the limits regulated by GOST 24405--80 for ground enamels on steel. It is shown that to ensure the process of drilling holes in parts made of brittle non-metallic materials, the axial cutting force generated by a diamond drill must be greater than the critical cutting force corresponding to the threshold of brittle fracture of the material. A model for removing cuttings from the cutting zone has been developed, which ensures the operation of the drill in the self-sharpening mode. The recommended values ??of the pressure of the coolant supplied to the inner cavity of the drill, depending on its diameter, have been calculated. Il. 6, bibliography: 3 titles.

The fundamental issues of extending the overhaul period for the operation of glass-melting baths are considered. Based on the results of the examination of the refractory masonry when stopping the furnace for cold repairs and studying the features of the corrosion of refractories in various structural elements of the masonry, technical solutions have been developed and implemented to extend the campaign of bath furnaces to 7-8 years. The effect of glass melts E and C, used for the production of fiberglass, on refractories with a granular structure has been studied. It has been established that the KhS-MVU refractory is resistant to the effects of both types of glass. Tab. 2, ill. 1, bibliography: 8 titles.

Nano-oxides are obtained by means of the AEROSIL-process. These materials are suitable for obtaining pure quartz glass, high quality oxides and various materials based on them for engineering and medicine. Il. 3.

The issued NPP? TEOS? an automated 5-channel system for technological control of the thickness of a float glass strip in real time in the hot zone of an annealing furnace, based on tandem low-coherence interferometry. The presence of continuous control of the thickness of the glass strip provides fundamentally new opportunities for technologists and the operator to control the technological process. The principle of operation, the advantages of the system, as well as the results of its operation at glass factories are presented. Il. 4, bibliography: 5 titles.

A method of stripping voltammetric determination of the chromium content released into model media from household utensils by stripping voltammetry has been developed. The optimal conditions for the analysis of the chromium content have been determined: background electrolyte? an aqueous solution of HNO ₃ with a concentration of 0.4 mol / L, the accumulation of chromate ions on the surface of the C / Ag electrode at a potential of +200 mV for 60 - 80 s, recording the current-voltage curve from +200 up to -350 mV at a potential sweep rate of 600 mV / s. Magnetic separators (based on permanent magnets NdFeB) have been developed and proposed for use for dry enrichment of quartz and feldspar raw materials. The separators have high recovery capacity and high productivity. Tab. 1, ill. 1.
