The properties of ceramics in the case of clay modification with a small addition of glass fiber during ultrasonic extrusion of laboratory specimens have been investigated. Ultrasound enhances the hardening effect of the modifier. It compresses the charge and orients its elongated particles along the direction of extrusion. After firing, the modifier particles turn into hollow geode nodules with a polycrystalline anorthite shell, filled with needle crystals. The proposed extrusion technique increases the accuracy and information content of testing modified clays.
Improving the quality of diamond wheels for grinding flat glass edges was carried out by reducing the relative consumption of diamond grinding wheels as a result of increasing the wear resistance of the bond and the use of diamond powders with an optimal coating. New wheels on a metal bond with a volume content of nickel powder of 40% and with a diamond powder with a nickel coating of 56% are recommended for industrial use, which provide a reduction in the relative consumption of diamonds by 20 - 30% with a constant roughness of the processed surface. Models have been developed that describe the dependence of the glass shape on the tempering regime. Simulation modeling of the control algorithm for the process of tempering automobile glass has been carried out. The possibility of further improving the quality of the produced glass is shown. The effectiveness of the use of simulation modeling in the development of corrective actions in the production of tempered glass has been substantiated. Tab. 5, bibliography: 2 titles.

The effect of agglomeration purification of quartz powders on the quality of quartz glasses obtained from quartz raw materials from veins "Berkutinskaya" and No. 175 of the Kyshtym deposit has been studied. Analysis of optical transmission spectra and structural characteristics of melted glasses shows the efficiency of using agglomeration purification of quartz raw materials to create high-purity concentrates. Il. 2, bibliography: 4 titles.
The results of studies of diamond grinding of glass ceramics are presented. A technological system for diamond flat grinding of parts made of brittle non-metallic materials has been obtained. The factors that characterize the technological system before machining are described. The use of the proposed technological system will make it possible to more effectively simulate the processes of mechanical processing of glass-ceramic products. Il. 2, bibliography: 5 titles.
A technique for constructing and applying models on artificial neural networks for analyzing and regulating the mode of forming a glass ribbon on a tin melt is considered. The technique provides for the creation of models on neural networks describing the dependence of the glass property indicators on the regime and controlled input variables, as well as the development of an algorithm for adjusting the regime variables depending on the thickness of the glass strip produced, taking into account changes in controlled disturbances. Tab. 3, ill. 1, bibliography: 3 titles.
