    Science for glass production

  • New technology of fine glass mixture production and corresponding glass melting procedure

    • Pages: -
A technology for preparing a charge from traditionally prepared and mixed components with subsequent superfine grinding of the mixture with the addition of special temporary reagents is proposed. The grinding method consists in the mechanical acceleration of the material and its autogenous grinding. The shredder has high reliability rates. The charge prepared in this way is homogeneous and ensures the rapid completion of the silicate formation reactions in the initial zone of the cooking device. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 1 titles.
  • Special features of interaction between glass batch particles through intercalations of two-component solutions

    • Pages: -
The capillary forces and crystallization strength of the components of the glass batch are studied when it is moistened with solvents of carbonate, sodium sulfate and other components. The data obtained can be used in solving problems related to the moistening of glass mixtures. Il. 3, bibliography: 1 title.
  • Science for ceramic production

  • Isostatic pressing of ceramic articles of irregular shape

    Autors: M. I. Timokhova
    • Pages: -
Methods of designing articles of complex configuration using hydrostatic pressing are considered. Thanks to the creation of sliding stops and the development of the design of hydraulic vibrators, good filling of the wings and flanges of the pressed products with press powder is ensured. The possibility of designing such products by quasi-isostatic (volumetric) pressing is shown. Il. 2, bibliography: 5 titles.
  • The effect of iron compounds on clay sintering in conditions of reduced pressure of the firing atmosphere

    Autors: B. K. Kara-sal
    • Pages: -
It is shown that during the firing of clay masses under conditions of reduced pressure, ferruginous compounds intensively transform into active forms due to the reducing nature of the gaseous medium. In this case, the mechanism of modification transformations and sintering changes, which contributes to the improvement of the physical and mechanical properties of the products obtained. Tab. 4, ill. 1, bibliography: 7 titles.
  • Hydrothermal synthesis of leucite and its application to technical ceramics

    • Pages: -
The conditions for obtaining tetragonal and cubic leucite from tetragonal analcime have been established by the method of hydrothermal ion exchange in an alkaline medium. The technological parameters of the process are given. On the basis of cubic leucite, the composition of a ceramic composite material for heating elements of a vacuum synthesis unit for pure inorganic compounds has been developed. Tab. 2, ill. 4, bibliography: 9 titles.
  • Production of nickel zirconate-based pigments having perovskite-like structure using sedimentation

    • Pages: -
The processes of joint hydroxide deposition of nickel (II) and zirconium (IV) with the production of nickel zirconate have been investigated. During the subsequent heat treatment of hydroxides at a lower temperature compared to powders, stabilized nickel zirconate with a stable crystal lattice is formed, in which Zr 4+ ions are replaced by Ni 2+ ions to obtain a colored connections. This serves as a prerequisite for the synthesis of stable pigments with a perovskite-like structure. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 6 titles.

  • Laser-mechanical technology of midget liner production from steatite

    • Pages: -
A technology has been developed for the manufacture of bushings from sintered washer-blanks obtained by slip casting under pressure from steatite sitall K-14. The technology of making watch stones on semi-automatic machines was adopted as a basis. The influence of laser radiation parameters on the process of piercing holes in blank washers to obtain bushings is investigated. Comparative properties of bushings are given. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 5 titles.
  • Liquid glass fire-retardant based on mechanically activated alumina

    • Pages: -
The influence of the silicate module of liquid glass, functional additives and mechanical activation of the filler on the composition of the fire retardant composition is shown. At temperatures up to 700 ° C, a decrease in thermal diffusivity is achieved by the formation of a heat-insulating layer foamed with vapors of water dehydrated from liquid glass. In the high-temperature region, the nepheline synthesis improves the heat-insulating properties when sodium silicate interacts with alumina. Mechanical activation of alumina enhances the effect. The addition of urea and boric acid to the composition of additives improves the fire-retardant properties of the gas environment. Tab. 2, ill. 4, bibliography: 8 titles.
  • Movement of granulated mineral raw flow upon firing in the rotating furnace

    • Pages: -
The behavior of a material layer in a rotary kiln is considered from the perspective of continuum mechanics. The change in the bulk density of the material layer is considered depending on the temperature in the zones of the furnace. It was revealed that under the influence of physical and chemical elementary processes occurring in the granules of mineral raw materials, surface forces arise in the material layer, which significantly affect the speed of the translational motion of the granules along the length of the furnace. It was found that the material layer of the fired granules along the length of the furnace moves in a wave-like manner (Riemann waves). Various geometrical profiles of rotary kilns are evaluated. Il. 2, bibliography: 1 title.
