The influence of the type of silicon-containing raw material on silicate formation and crystallization properties of glasses of the lithium aluminum silicate system is considered and the expediency of using amorphous silica to increase the homogeneity of sitall glasses during melting in industrial conditions is substantiated.

An analytical review of the literature on the change in the processes of glass melting, the thermal transparency of the molten glass, the light transmission of glass, depending on the redox potential of the raw material and the charge, is given. Experimental data on the effect of oxidation-reduction potentials (ORP) of charges and glass breakage on the color of industrial glasses are presented. The conditions of transformation and equilibrium of iron oxides during glass melting are considered.

The results of a computational and experimental study of cooking three-module sodium silicate from a sulphate charge without the use of a reducing agent are presented. The above results indicate the great possibilities of organizing the cooking process of sodium silicate without using a reducing agent at temperatures of 1450 - 1500 ° C in thin films of the melt.

The results of a study of the effect of B ₂ O ₃ as a sintering additive at the initial stages of the formation of optical ceramics from aluminum-magnesium spinel (AMS) are presented. It is shown that it is possible to obtain, by the liquid method, uniform nanosized coatings containing a sintering additive B ₂ O ₃ on the surface of AMB particles, which leads to a significant acceleration of the subsequent sintering process of AMB particles.

The possibility of using zinc and tin oxides as antimicrobial agents in the preparation of bactericidal glass enamel coatings is considered. The dependence of the inhibiting ability of glass enamel coatings based on zinc and tin oxide on the concentration of CFU E. Coli has been established. The optimal amount of oxides of zinc and tin oxide has been determined, which makes it possible to provide a high antibacterial effect of glass enamel coatings under conditions of severe bactericidal contamination.

The structures of enamel with different contents of iron oxide have been investigated. It is shown that the structure changes with an increase in the concentration of iron oxide. The increased mobility of silicon-oxygen groups surrounded by iron cations causes their rearrangement into a crystalline phase with minimal energy.

The materials of glass-melting vessels for glass melting produced by various manufacturers have been investigated. Based on the data of dilatometric analysis, optical and electron microscopy, conclusions were drawn about the causes of vascular destruction.

The analysis of the prospects for the introduction of the best available technologies at enterprises producing glass and ceramics in Russia. The modernization of the factories has contributed to the improvement of environmental performance and energy efficiency. The participation of specialized enterprises in identifying the best available technologies and determining the procedure for issuing integrated environmental permits will minimize the risks of transition to a new system of environmental regulation.
