The effect of oxide-modifiers (MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO and ZnO), introduced instead of SiO 2 into the composition of borosilicate glass, on its properties has been investigated. It was found that the physicochemical properties (TCLE, temperature of the onset of softening, microhardness, density, water resistance) of glasses are mainly determined by the structure and phase composition and to a lesser extent depend on the type of oxide modifier.
