Methods for calculating the strength properties of glass plates, such as deflection and stresses arising when a static load is applied to the glass, are presented. The features of various methods for calculating deflections and stresses are considered. The mathematical formulation of the problem is described and the results of the numerical solution of the obtained problem for a fourth-order partial differential equation, the so-called biharmonic equation, developed by the authors by the grid method, are given.
