The possibility of using unconventional raw materials as substitutes for sand and soda in the production of container glass, taking into account their redox characteristics, has been investigated. It has been established that the color and quality of the glass obtained can be predicted with the integrated use of such indicators as the chemical oxygen demand of the charge and the redox potential of the charge. The problems associated with the accumulation of ash and slag waste from thermal power plants in Russia and abroad are considered. An analysis of the chemical and qualitative compositions of ash and slags of various deposits is given, and on this basis, ways of their implementation are proposed. A promising direction of using ash-and-slag mixtures is their use for the production of glass-crystalline and other materials manufactured using glass technology. Bibliography: 5 titles.
