The process of chemical corrosion of glass using a methylene blue indicator has been investigated. Kinetic and concentration dependences were obtained for the adsorption of a dye by a silicic acid gel, including on the inner surface of bottles. The reasons and mechanism of precipitation in vodka are considered, practical measures are proposed to prevent their occurrence. Il. 4, bibliography: 13 titles.
The role of impurities and small additives in the production of high-quality glass products is shown. Some of the possible interactions in the oxidative and reduction modes of cooking are presented. Some conditions for the use of cullet, assessments of its recovery potential are considered. Bibliography: 10 titles.
The experience of the Saratov Institute of Glass on the transition from Tashlinsky sand to local sand of variable chemical composition in the production of light and heat-shielding float glass is considered. Practical recommendations are given. Bibliography: 4 titles.
The effect of deposition modes - deposition rate and total content of film-forming oxides in solution - on the microhardness of sol-gel films of molar composition (%): 22 Bi 2 O 3 , 25 Fe < sub> 2 O 3 , 53 TiO 2 . The relationship between these parameters and the particle size of the dispersed phase of the film-forming solution, the degree of turbulence of its flow, and presumably with the packing density of solid particles in the film is established. It is shown that the correct selection of the deposition modes makes it possible to obtain coatings of different thicknesses with the highest possible microhardness. Tab. 4, bibliography: 8 titles.
The temperature-time conditions of the periods of cooling and crystallization of fiery-liquid silico-manganese slags have been determined. The possibility of using the results obtained for the production of glass-crystalline materials for construction purposes is shown. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.
Three independent float glass production methods developed by Pilkington (England), Pi-Pi-Gee Industries (USA) and Saratov Glass Institute (Russia) are considered. The fundamental differences between these methods are shown. The stages of creation by the Saratov Institute of a two-stage glass molding method are highlighted. Il. 6.
A set of statistical characteristics of the strength of tempered glass upon impact with a ball is considered. It is shown that under the conditions of production, the asymmetry of the strength of float glass tends to a sharp decrease. Il. 2, bibliography: 2 titles.
The effect of boron orthophosphate additives on the properties of metaphosphate glasses was studied using the example of glassy sodium and aluminum metaphosphates. The positive effect of BPO 4 on the chemical resistance of glasses to hydrofluoric acid and water has been established. Tab. 2, bibliography: 4 titles.
It is shown that the inhomogeneity in the thickness of the oxide coatings of titanium, aluminum, and zirconium deposited by the sol-gel method on glass is associated with the influence of the mesostructure of oxide components and quantum transfer in individual regions of the waveguide light. Significant deviation from refractive index additivity
It is proposed to introduce the concept of stability of the thermal regime of molds for pressing glass products and a formula for calculating the stability coefficient, which will allow simulating the conditions of their production, taking into account changes in the temperature of the external environment and the duration of pressing. Il. 1, bibliography: 7 titles.
