The influence of the redox potentials (ORP) of charges and glass breakage on the color of glasses of industrial compositions containing up to 0.5% iron oxides has been investigated. The boundaries of the ORP values ??of the charge have been established, which make it possible to obtain glasses of green, blue-green, yellow-green and brown colors. The results obtained make it possible to predict the color and shades of glass at the stage of batch preparation. Tab. 1, ill. 2, bibliography: 4 titles.
The advantages of operating a glass-melting furnace with a heat-insulated brewing basin are considered. The diagram of thermal insulation is shown. The efficiency of the use of thermal insulation of furnace basins when melting glasses with reduced light transmission is noted. Tab. 1, ill. 2, bibliography: 1 title.
The design and technological parameters of gratings for tempering sheet glass in modern installations and lines are considered. The limiting lower level of the thickness of the glass, which is subject to air-jet hardening, has been determined. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.
The use of hollow glass microspheres in syntactic foams with organosilicon binders is shown. The physical-mechanical and thermophysical properties of the obtained heat-insulating materials have been investigated. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 1 title.
Based on the analysis of patent information, the main methods of thinning float glass in the process of production are determined. Brief descriptions of the patented methods are given. The problems of shaping thinned float glass and the ways of their solution are considered. The perspective directions of further development of thinned float glass production are presented. Il. nine.
The mechanism of interaction of the metacide, which is a component of the coolant, with quartz glasses during the grinding process has been investigated by spectroscopic methods. It is shown that without grinding, the main type of interaction of metacide with glass is the formation of hydrogen bonds. Under mechanical action, both the polymer and the glass surface change, as a result of which other types of interaction of the metacid with glass appear. Il. 2, bibliography: 8 titles.
The structure of glasses in the local region of the Na 2 O - Fe 2 O 3 - B 2 O 3 system has been studied - SiO 2 . The sequence of formation of oxygen-containing tetrahedral groups in the presence of non-bridging oxygen ions has been established. The formation of groups of the six-coordinated iron cation promotes the crystallization of sodium-borosilicate glass melts upon cooling. Tab. 2, ill. 2, bibliography: 9 titles.
The processes of film formation in a three-component system have been investigated - from the preparation of the working solution to the firing of the coating. It is shown that the properties and quality of coatings are established at the stage of preparation of a film-forming solution and depend on the size, shape of sol particles, porosity of the film, and diffusion processes at the glass-film interface. Tab. 3, ill. 3, bibliography: 7 titles.
The method of IR spectroscopy of aqueous solutions and films of silanes A-174 and GVS-9 was used to study their transformations depending on the duration of hydrolysis and aging of aqueous solutions, as well as on the temperatures of thermal treatment of the films. The adhesion characteristics in systems modified with a sizing glass fiber - polyester resin have been studied. The optimal parameters for the finishing of glass fibers with silanes A-174 and GVS-9 have been formulated. Tab. 3, ill. 3, bibliography: 2 titles.
