The conditions of soda hydration and their influence on the quality of the charge are considered. The modes of transportation and storage of the charge have been determined. Recommendations for loading and unloading the charge are given. Bibliography: 5 titles.
A laser installation and a technology for welding quartz fibers are considered. The results of testing the mechanical properties of welded fiber beams are presented. Il. 3, bibliography: 6 titles.
A technique for constructing experimental models of the process of drawing optical rods based on experimental data is considered. The obtained models make it possible to determine their permissible fluctuations in the selected area of ??change in technological parameters. Il. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.
The system Na 2 O - SiO 2 , used in the design of compositions for the manufacture of gas microcontainers (microspheres), has been studied. Based on the well-known equation, an expression for the dependence of the hydrogen permeability coefficient of glasses on the silicate modulus is obtained. It was found that an alkaline modifier, even in the form of an impurity, can affect the gas permeability. It is concluded that it is necessary to apply criteria-based assessment in the design of glasses. A nomogram was obtained to determine the silicate modulus, hydrogen permeability coefficient, phase composition, and the probability of glass formation in the Na 2 O - SiO 2 system. Tab. 1, ill. 2, bibliography: 9 titles.
The first nonlinear optical nanocomposite based on a fusible glassy matrix and a ferroelectric crystal has been obtained. Lead-borate glasses were used as a matrix, and a single-phase ferroelectric powder KNbSi 2 O 7 served as a filler. The quadratic optical nonlinearity of composites has been studied as a function of the temperature and duration of dissolution of crystals in a glass matrix. The conditions for obtaining transparent nanocomposites generating the second optical harmonic are determined. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 14 titles.
The sol-gel method synthesized phosphors based on strontium aluminates activated with europium and dysprosium ions. The effect of the ratio of strontium and aluminum oxides on the crystallization and luminescent properties of the obtained luminophores has been investigated. It is shown that the dispersion of luminophore powders is 3 - 4 microns. In this case, in contrast to the traditional method of solid-phase sintering, the stage of grinding materials can be excluded. Tab. 1, ill. 4, bibliography: 13 titles.
The basics of making foam glass are considered. The relationship between the structure and properties of the resulting material, such as density, water absorption, strength and thermal conductivity, is shown. The advantages, disadvantages and prospects for the development of one of the "cold" methods of producing foam glass are reflected.
The main trends in the development of a wide range of bioactive medical materials based on glasses are considered. They are classified according to their composition, physicochemical properties and in relation to body tissues. Tab. 2, ill. 3, bibliography: 31 titles.
The growth rates of the production of modern technical materials of various classes are indicated. The main reasons for the predominant development of new, including glass-crystalline, materials are considered. The main attention is paid to the possibilities and features of the use of glass-crystalline materials of various types (heat-resistant high-strength, transparent nanostructured, electrically active, bioactive, construction) in promising areas of modern technology, industry, construction, medicine. The properties of these types of glass-crystalline materials are given. Tab. 1.
A review of the results of investigations of the little-studied phenomenon of motion of the surface flow of glass melt, called overflow, is given. The physical picture of this phenomenon and the possibilities of various techniques, the use of which contributes to its detailed study, are considered. The disadvantages of individual experiments are indicated. Tab. 1, ill. 2, bibliography: 25 titles.
