The relevance of the study of heat and mass transfer in a glass-making furnace with a horseshoe-shaped flame direction has been substantiated. The basic requirements for the rational length of the torch in furnaces of this type are formulated. The necessity of joint solution of external and internal problems of heat transfer is shown. The results of calculating the temperatures of the gaseous medium, the surfaces of the vault and the molten glass, depending on the length of the torch are presented. It has been established that, according to the set of conditions, the rational length of the torch can be taken equal to the length of the furnace. In this case, the length of the zone of intense combustion (visible part of the flame) is approximately 0.7 of the length of the furnace. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 9 titles.
The necessity of using geodetic measurements to identify deformation processes on the rotating surfaces of roller conveyors of industrial lines for the production of flat glass is substantiated. A description is given and the principle of operation of the geodetic instruments used in this case is considered. Il. 3.
Glasses based on the ZnO - SrO - B 2 O 3 system with an additional introduction of PbO, Al 2 O 3 and Li 2 O, an elemental analysis of the inhomogeneities was carried out. The influence of ZnO on the physicochemical properties of glasses is considered. Fluxes with reduced PbO content have been developed. Il. 4, bibliography: 6 titles.
The possibility of staining industrial electrovacuum glasses with cadmium sulfoselenides is considered. The composition of glass for the production of automobile lamps, as well as the technology of their coloring are proposed. The technological parameters of cooking and shaping of bulbs for such lamps have been worked out. Prototypes of lamps with a yellow glass bulb have been obtained. Il. 2, bibliography: 3 titles.
The possibility of using glauconite-bearing sedimentary rocks of Belarus - glauconite sands and enriched glauconite - as aluminosilicate raw materials has been established. The main physical and chemical properties of the synthesized materials have been determined. The color characteristics of glasses, the features of the formation of the structure and phase composition of glaze coatings and glass-crystalline materials have been studied. Il. 3, bibliography: 4 titles.
A comparative analysis of the ability of sheet glass from a number of manufacturers to transmit solar radiation in different ranges: 300 - 2500 nm (direct solar transmission), 300 - 380 nm (ultraviolet transmission) and 380 - 780 nm (light transmission). It is shown that a high level of light transmission does not always guarantee a high transmission of ultraviolet radiation. Tab. 2, bibliography: 2 titles.
The results of studying the effect of unconventional additives - powders of aluminum and zinc metals - on the processes of silicate and glass formation using the method of polythermy and thermogravimetric analysis are presented. The peculiarities of the glass-making process of decorative glasses with the use of non-traditional additives are noted. Tab. 1, ill. 7, bibliography: 9 titles.
It was found that the transverse bending strength of float glass sheet depends on the location of the float side relative to the applied load. If, when bent, the side in contact with the tin (float side) is in the tension zone, then the strength of the glass is reduced by an average of 40% compared to the strength when the float side is in the compression zone. This phenomenon must be taken into account in the design of translucent structures and the manufacture of three-layer glass. Il. 1.
The forces of surface interaction of the components of the glass batch are considered, and the comparison of capillary and gravitational forces for different particle sizes at different stages of preparation of the molten glass is carried out. The dependences of the capillary force on the volume of the liquid and the distance between particles are discussed. Tab. 1, ill. 5, bibliography: 7 titles.
A technology for preparing a charge from traditionally prepared and mixed components with subsequent superfine grinding of the mixture with the addition of special temporary reagents is proposed. The grinding method consists in the mechanical acceleration of the material and its autogenous grinding. The shredder has high reliability rates. The charge prepared in this way is homogeneous and ensures the rapid completion of the silicate formation reactions in the initial zone of the cooking device. Tab. 1, ill. 1, bibliography: 1 titles.
