The defect structure of alumina nanopowders and ceramics based on them is studied by the method of electron paramagnetic resonance. Nanopowders have their own structural point defects, which are oxygen vacancies that have captured an electron (F + centers). Among the impurity defects in nanopowders and ceramics, signals from Fe 3+ , Cr 3+ , and Ti 3+ ions, occupying different crystallographic positions in Al 2 About 3 or in separate phases. Tab. 3, ill. 2, bibliography: 9 titles.
The use of unconventional raw materials, the development of fundamentally new methods of enrichment of mineral raw materials, the introduction of natural additives of complex composition into the composition of aluminosilicate ceramic masses open up new opportunities in the creation of energy and resource-saving technologies for the ceramic industry. Tab. 9, ill. 3, bibliography: 8 titles.
Ceramic masses with low porosity have been developed on the basis of difficult-to-sinter clay from the Gzhel deposit and its mechanically activated part, as well as additives - nepheline-syenite and glass breakage. The introduction of glass breakage into clays of different fineness made it possible to reduce the firing temperature and shorten the technological process of making majolica products due to a single firing. Tab. 3, ill. 5, bibliography: 3 titles.
A review is given of the information available in the literature on the synthesis of strontium zirconate, the properties of ceramics based on it, and its fields of application. Attention is also drawn to the difficulties that arise when working with this material. Bibliography: 18 titles.
The casting properties and compressibility of ultradispersed plasma-chemical powders based on zirconium and aluminum oxides after synthesis and annealing at various temperatures have been investigated. It is shown that, after relatively low-temperature annealing, a slip with satisfactory casting properties can be obtained without a significant increase in the crystallite size in powder particles. Il. 6, bibliography: 5 titles.
The effect of additives of transition metal oxides and sintering temperature on the strength characteristics of ceramics from cordierite synthesized with the use of mechanical activation has been investigated. It was found that the introduction of oxide additives increases the strength of the ceramics. Tab. 1, ill. 3, bibliography: 5 titles.
The possibilities and conditions for improving the sintering of Vladimir kaolin by using refractory variegated clay of the same deposit are shown. Tab. 2, ill. 1, bibliography: 3 titles.
The results of physicochemical and technological studies of basalt tuffs as a new type of raw material for the manufacture of building ceramics are presented. Tests carried out in production conditions have confirmed the feasibility of using basalt tuffs for the manufacture of building bricks, roof tiles and facade tiles. Il. 2, bibliography: 1 title.
The results of a study of the explosion products of charges of aluminum with HMX, surrounded by a brass sheath, under conditions of complete afterburning in air are presented. The condensed explosion products contain ganite ZnAl 2 O 4 , a new (metastable) modification of aluminum oxide and zinc oxide in small amounts. The X-ray diffraction pattern of aluminum oxide is indexed in a cubic face-centered lattice with the parameters: a = 7.854 (1) A, V = 484.4 (2) A 3 . Possible Fedorov groups are Fm3m, F432 and F43m. Tab. 3, Ill. 1, bibliography: 7 titles.
The conditions and parameters of the synthesis of composite powders of the TiC - TiB 2 system using high-frequency melting are considered and interpreted as a result of laboratory studies. The main technological parameters of the synthesis are presented. Tab. 2, Ill. 3, bibliography: 1 title.
