Compositions have been developed using electrostatic precipitators dust to obtain thin films on sheet glass with heat-absorbing and decorative properties. The technique of transferring solid waste - a dye - into a solution has been worked out. The resulting films absorb 39 - 25% of heat rays in the infrared range of the spectrum. Tab. 3, bibliography: 4 titles.

The possibility of increasing the introduction of cullet into the batch (from 30 to 100%) in the production of rolled types of glass has been proven. A method is proposed for assessing the change in the redox potential of molten glass using data on the content of heterovalent iron and sulfur compounds in the glass composition. Tab. 2, ill. 2, bibliography: 8 titles.

The results of studies of changes in the basic physical and technical properties of clay-silicon carbide refractories made on the basis of the breakage of silicon carbide plates by the slip casting method, with their repeated heating and cooling, are presented. The obtained refractories are recommended to be used in the production of fine ceramics as stacks and capsules. Tab. 4, ill. 1, bibliography: 4 titles.

The advantages of using gabbro rock, rich in calcium and magnesium oxides, in the production of ceramic tiles instead of raw materials containing calcium and magnesium carbonates are considered. It is shown that with the additional introduction of the breaking of facing tiles and an increase in the viscosity of the slip, it is possible to improve the quality of products and make the transition to a one-stage firing of glazed tiles.
